  Clean, Hunt, Tag
Today I was determined to clean my house. Our friend's house that we went to on Monday was so absolutely beautiful...and spotless. And they have two young children. I KNOW I can do it. I just have to keep up.

That's all.
*sigh*

So I woke up with all engines revving. And cleaned nonstop the entire day until hubby came home from work. As I was erasing pencil marks off the walls, I thought to myself that our friends wouldn't even HAVE to do any of that. It would never even be a problem because their kids wouldn't be able to get "contraband" items such as pens and pencils. We DO have a place up high for them, but eventually, they just get put down somewhere carelessly and the babies' contraband radars start beeping and they immediately locate them and commence with the destruction.

After five hours STRAIGHT of washing, scrubbing, and cleaning (with an occasional diaper change and feeding,) I walked into the house from hanging clothes on the line and realized that anyone walking into our house would not have had a clue I had been cleaning all morning. It was still a disaster area. I never understood how my hubby could clean for half an hour and the place looked great. I clean all day and it still looks messy.

Only today did I finally figure it out...He DE-clutters, and I disinfect. That's two different types of cleaning! His cleaning is a whirlwind of tossing rubbish, toys, clothes, and misc items into proper places. While MY cleaning is a scrub/dust/wipe/wash/fold/clean everything in my path. So now I actually feel better. Because though the computer desk and countertop still have books/papers/CD's/pens/lotions (a.k.a. clutter) on them, at least all the blanket, pillows, towels, and clothes in the house have been washed. The sinks, tubs, walls, have been scrubbed, the ceiling fans have been dusted etcetera etcetera. So I have a CLEAN house, not just an orderly house. I'll take that.

And now we have to keep it that way until next next Saturday. Kristine has inspired me to make a scavenger hunt. The invitations have been printed and sent out this morning. It's kind of a rush job because I realized there are no other available Saturdays for the next two months so I have to do it on the 11th. Seventeen families are invited, though I expect a smaller turn out because it's probably a graduation night for some school...I didn't check. You're invited, if you can make it here by then! : ) I can't wait! The planning is almost as fun as the actual event (for me!)

Okay, and one more thing...

I've been tagged by K8 . Ten things I have never done. She wrote funny stuff, but I'm not feeling very creative right now, so I don't know.
Ten Things I Have Never Done: (but wish I could)
1. Had a baby girl : (
2.Worked at a surf shop (for the discounted stuff!)
3.Windsurfed
4.Been to New Zealand
5.Ran a marathon
6.Owned a boat
7.Played organized sports
8.RV'd across the US
9.Earned a million dollars
10. Competed in "The Amazing Race."

Now I tag Dawn and Jayleigh

This is the invitation (with personal info removed) It's brochure-style, folded twice. Anybody wanna offer help with clues? I'm making them riddle style, and some are going to be photos the family has to take at places, doing silly stuff. And it's an actual hunt where they have to bring items back. I should make one of the items a Krispy Kreme for me : ) Posted by Hello

  A Day of FUN

Lunch get together at a friend's house included a soapy slip and slide....the boys had so much fun! Posted by Hello

The letterbox find. Our friends took the babies this morning so me and the big boys had a few hours before we had to meet them at another friends house for lunch. We went to www.letterboxing.org and printed out a few finds and got the first one within a half an hour. The next one was a five mile hike that we couldn't complete because it was getting too late....but we'll definitely be back! Posted by Hello

Our first letterbox find!! This one was at the Waihee preserve. Thanks to Tee for this idea. Posted by Hello

The view 1/2 hour up on our second endeavor. We had to turn around and go back because we were late for lunch at our friend's house. Posted by Hello

See the car specks? That's where we parked, we have just barely started on the hike Posted by Hello

  A proven fact
I now know, without a doubt, that men are WUSSES.
Women, we are stronger.
Maybe we can't lift two hundred pounds, or even a hundred, but we can ENDURE anything better, especially pain.
My hubby, my manly man, he's become incapacitated by one of life's...uhhh...annoyances, to put it mildly.

I can't tell you what it is, but I can say that I've had it THREE TIMES, after PUSHING OUT two 6 POUND BABIES (at seperate times) and also from carrying 50 pounds of twins and everything that comes with them..
And I never said a WORD to him about it. Just lived my life until it went away.

But I've been imprisoned here listening to my manly husband whine and moan and writhe around in agony for THREE WHOLE DAYS already about his painful ordeal.

Not a minute goes by that he doesn't mention it. He sneezes, then says "Oh, that wasn't good for it." Me, not having my mind on mr. H. relpies "huh?" Oh, yeah. SHEESH. He pushes and twists the beach umbrella into the sand. What's the first thing he mentions? yup. He sits all slouched down to be comfortable. He mentions that Napolean had to ride side saddle on his horse because of it (as he comes riding in on his moped.) He talks about it while we eat, while we watch tv, or even in reply to something I say even though it had nothing to do with the subject.

Finally, fed up with all the whining, I look it up on the internet and MY GOODNESS, there are HUGE ones there. Huge, UGLY, disgusting ones. I think "maybe he has it really bad!" poor thing! Here I have been, thinking he's being wimpy when really, he may have one of THOSE kind. The kind that looks like a 6 pound baby coming out.

So I tell him to show me. "WhAT? You wanna see it? Why?"
"Just bend over!"
So we head to the bathroom for some privacy. He's waddling.
I'm bouncing with anticipation, I want to see the huge ugly one. I want to see this monstrosity that has rendered my manly hubby useless.
And it's just a eentsy weentsy pea.
What can I say?
THAT is why God gave women the priviledge of bearing children, because if men had to do it, we would be EXTINCT already.

  book tag
I've been tagged by Diana . Diana, you stinker! lol.
The instructions:
1. Grab the nearest book.
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with these instructions.
5. Don't search around and look for the coolest book you can find. Do what's actually next to you.
Well, I have a stack of five books right next to me.
"Maybe you think it's strange, but it's not unique" (character Al Hunt describing how he sees people as radiating colors in Body of Evidence by Patricia Cornwell)
"They made all it utensils of bronze" From the Bible
"Often Kit and Judith and even Rachel worked side by side with Matthew in the fields until sunset, and there was not a moment to spare." A book from my son's summer reading list called The Witch of Blackbird Pond.
"They hadn't even known for certain (as the Witch did) that this was what would happen when Aslan came to Narnia." From C.S. Lewis' The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. I got it to read with my boys because the movie version is coming to theater and I wanted them to experience the magic of it as a book first (the better way!)
and
"I think nothing of saying 'love you' when I'm talking to some of my pals." From Mary Higgins Clark's The Second Time Around.
Who do I tag? hmmm. How about Dad? I bet he's not gonna do it, but if he does, at least that means he'll finally POST SOMETHING!

  Stuff Portrait Friday
Don't forget this is Stuff Portrait Friday!! Check it out at Kristine's blog .
This week is :
Your religious symbols/pix/statues
Your Fridge (inside & out)
Your Purse &/or Shoe collection

Since I already did my purse a while back, this is my "shoe" collection. 99% of it is sandals or slippers! I shouldn't even count the stupid white pair of sneakers in the corner, cheap brand that caused the WORSTEST blisters so I never wear them. Anyone want them? Posted by Hello

My Fridge. See the quick little hands that always rush for the berries as soon as the door opens! We never fastened the door handles on because we knew the babies would always be in the icebox if they figured out how to open it! Posted by Hello

My "religious symbols" I don't really have any except my Bible and Sunday School book. Posted by Hello

  Woot!Woot!!
I got an A in my speech class! Yippeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

  Aloha Bill
Today was incredible. I went for the 8am paddle and Aunty Kuulei asked if I wanted to go for a long one instead. Of course! I called hubby to get the okay. They needed to get the double hull to Kamaole for a funeral. Little did I know that we were paddling for the funeral too. This was by far the most beautiful ride ever, I was mesmerized by the ocean's ever-changing colors, the water would get deep, then so shallow we had to watch our blades from the reef. I was stroker, which I don't feel I have the confidence for, but since it was a double hull, I could just follow Aunty Kuulei's lead on my left. Most of all, I was worried I would tire out and shame myself by having to stop, but that wasn't even a problem, it was just repetition: stroke, stroke, stroke, endlessly stroke. I love this. I really think I was meant for long hauls more than sprints. They said we went seven miles.
We got there, and the funeral crowd was waiting for us. They had prayer and chants on the beach, then the immediate family got in the canoe with the gourd that contained the deceased one's ashes, his name was Bill. They also had bags of plumerias and tuberose. We went out to where Bill would take his daily swim and followed the path he would take. More songs, chants, and a few words from his wife. The "Kahu" (priest) told of how Bill could now show up as a turtle, or a whale. He talked about how all of a sudden we had a Kona wind, which is unusual for there and he insinuated it was Bill. (As he said it,the wind was blowing my way and some of Bill's ashes flew to me, I just held my breath so I wouldn't breathe any Bill in.) Bill's ashes were being spread into the water and it was so beautiful, it made clouds in the clear blue water. It was like the sky had turned up side down. They sprinkled the flowers all around and the steersman kept circling the canoe around. THIS is the way I want to go. Except no talk of me coming back as a turtle, I will be with my Heavenly Father, thank you. And I will also ask for my ashes to be spread at my favorite surf spot...waaaay more than 7 miles away! Good thing I won't have to paddle that one! tee hee!

  Officer Poopyhead
Last year, I paid for me and hubby's car registration at the same time. His renewal came and mine didn't....EVER. So, after a couple of months, I called them. They said it WAS sent out on so-and-so date. I said I didn't get it. They said I will have to pay 10 dollars to apply for a replacement. I said "but it wasn't my fault!" They said to take it up with the Post Office. Post office said they can't do anything about it and they aren't gonna pay for my replacement. Well NEITHER AM I! The registration place said that if I get pulled over before I get my replacement sticker, the policeman can call it in and see that it was indeed renewed. So, my logic is, I'll drive around with the expired sticker, because somewhere on a database, it says that I am actually a good citizen and paid my dues. So if I get pulled over, I can just explain my situation and they'll check it out and let me go.
So babies and I went to the library for storytime and it was FANTASTIC. They had stories, finger puppets, songs, coloring time, and all of that time, the babies were so good. I vowed to come back next week cuz I got me some borrowed Patricia Cornwell books and for sure I'll be ready for more by then! Well, I'm feeling great and get to the car and strap the babies in, get behind the wheel, put the key in the ignition, look up and said "What the H.....?" There was a ticket on my windshield! I didn't think about getting a ticket while I was PARKED! Now I have to take a day to go to court and explain all this?!
What a quick and sure way to turn a good mood sour. As I drive off, I see HIM, Officer Poopyhead. His name is TAGUMA. Yeah, I'll tell you his name. He's well known around here. My husband coached his daughter for basketball, but he still gave hubby a ticket for not having his seat belt on as we pulled out of a parking lot. (Which I wrote a letter to the judge saying that we were just pulling out and he woulda had his seat belt on in a second, so he let it go) I think he also gave him a ticket for something else another time. Anyhow, rumor has it that he gave HIS OWN MOTHER a ticket. Ask anyone, they've heard about it!
Man, I'm so hopping mad! It's not like I even broke the law and I have to go take care of this or pay 70 bucks. ARGH!!!!!

  blah blah blah
Yesterday, Z and I were sick. No energy. Felt like I was moving like molasses. Unfortunately, because Z was sick, he woke up at his usual 6:30, but just cried and whined non-stop until he FINALLY fell asleep an hour or so later. E felt fine, so he was up and playing. Me, I was begging E to please come sleep with us. But he's feeling fine so he don't want to. Which means I have to stay up with him. FINE. But I'm laying here like a sack of potatoes.
Z got up after a nice two hour nap. I try to feed them lunch then it's E's nap time. This time, Z won't sleep! I'm tired as tired can be, I can't believe this staggered nap schedule is happening to me, on my rare sick day.
My boys, they are speech delayed. They both are ABLE to say "mama" but very rarely do. They'll call Daddy and Ha'a and anyone else, but forget "mama." They know a bunch of words, but they just refused to apply "mama." It was almost a game for Z, I'll prompt him, "say MAMA." and he'll give his impish grin and say "DADDY!!"
But yesterday, I was just laying there with my eyes closed, in all my misery, and Z did not LIKE this one bit, I wasn't paying any attention to him. So he got all in my face and yelled "MOM! Mommomomomomomomomomomomom!!!MOM!MOM! MOMOMMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOMOM!" First, I was pleased, I loved hearing it. But it got REALLY annoying.

Oh, and I am finally weaning them from the bottle. They are almost two! We are down to only two bottles, and one of the nipples has a gash in the side from gnawing teeth. I'm NOT buying any new ones. So it's time. Definitely need to do it before our trip to Texas, which is less than a month away. I started a while ago, but every time I give milk in the sippy cup, they take a sip, throw the cup down, look at me with disgust like "WHAT is THIS??" And I'd go--like the dutiful servant that I am--and make them a bottle instead. But I stood my ground last night. I just kept handing it back to them "drink your milk." And they drank it eventually. Not happy, but whatever.

So, I'm feeling like a new person this morning. It was just a 24 hour thing. Thank God! At first, I had thought it was my allergy to the cat, but thankfully it wasn't. We're going to the library today, there's storytime and playtime for the kiddies. I don't know if I can do it alone with them, but we'll see how it goes. We may not be invited to come back! haha!

Have a great day. Some people are going through really hard times in blogland and I want you to know I have been stopping to pray for you several times a day. "The Lord watches over all who love Him..." Psalm 145:20

  Life With Kitty
NALU IS DRIVING ME NUTS!
It's not her fault, she's a playful kitty.
She wants to blog too. This is what she writes O::::::::::LKJTTTTTTTTT when she walks on the keyboard as I blog.
She also has to always be on someone. She's really needy. Which is sweet.
And I can't help it, I just love and snuggle that furry ball of sweetness.
Did I ever mention I'm allergic to cats?
So my throat itches and my nose runs constantly.
I've sneezed ten thousand times today.
It gives me a headache.
ugh.
She cries when you leave the house
and she attacks when you get home. She's SOOO playful. She's so adorable.
And Noa is taking good care of her. He feeds her and cleans her litter.
and she sleeps on him.
So much love in that little heart, Her Royal Furness.
But sometimes I think OH MY GOODNESS, I will be miserable for at least another DECADE.
And there's nothing I can do, she's family already!
Oh well, I guess I gotta buy stock in Kleenex and stockpile some Benadryl.

And on a completely different subject, What are you getting your father for Fathers' day?

If I could be a musician...I would never stop playing and would join our Praise Team. When I strum an ukulele, or anything, it's just noise. No music ever comes out of what I play. WHY??? My son and hubby can take the SAME instrument and make beautiful music. I don't know why I just can't. I'd take that and also a nice voice would be good.

SoooOOoooOOooo...I get to tag Diana and Tee . You're it!

  BOYS
I think I mentioned the day we got back from Anaheim that our oldest boy fell at the skate park and he couldn't see well out of one eye so we took him emergency and it was like, a mild concussion. So, I said he absolutely needs to wear his helmet. No one else at the park does. What's wrong with them!? So I'm sure he feels silly wearing it. But I lectured him. Told him that when the bill comes for the ER and the doc, and the imaging, and everything, it'll be 100 bucks for us to pay. I told him imagine going to school the entire day, and instead of sitting down and learning, imagine HARD PHYSICAL LABOR the entire day. That's what his dad had to do to pay for his fall. He still doesn't get it, I know.
He has no idea what the worth of money is, because he's spoiled from his grandparents. Any little thing his heart desires, he gets. It's not fair to him because he will expect things in life to just fall in his lap, and that's not going to happen. I hate that my hubby works so hard and the things we are able to get the kids pale in comparison to what gma can get them.
So anyhow, he went to the skate park yesterday and fell again, this time hurting his arm (had his helmet on, but that didn't help his arm!) I didn't even think about taking him ER again, even though he was babying his arm. I told him if it still hurt by today, I'll take him to the doctor. Oooh, I was so annoyed. It still hurt so I had to keep him home from school, go to the doctor, Xray, then back to the doctor. He fractured his arm where the growth plate is. He has to wear a splint for a few weeks. I made sure to bring up in front of the doctor that he can't skate for that whole time, for verification. And threw in that maybe he needs to do laundry and dishes to strengthen the arm, Doc agreed, God bless him : ) lol.
I don't know if I'm being hard on him, but I said he needs to wear the pads when he goes. These are high 4-8 feet drops into the ramps and it's all cement. I don't understand how all the kids can be there with NOT A SHRED of protection. I had no problem with that when he went and he was younger, he put them on, but now it's a peer pressure thing where he doesn't want to because no one else does.
I hate that. I hate that there are parents out there with different values. Not to say I am so right, but that it makes life hard on me when my kids beg for something and their excuse is "everyone else is doing it!" and I am the mean mommy. Like playing down the street after dark--my boys have to come home at dark. But other kids are out and my boy gets mad at me because I'm the mean one to make him come home. Or watching pg-13 movies, I have to research or screen them first. There are so many variations from one pg-13 to another! I don't mind the Star Wars type of pg-13, there were no crude jokes, sexual references and such. It's those I don't like them to see. They have a whole lifetime to grow up, what's the rush?
So for now, if you see a kid at the skate park sporting a helmet, knee pads, shin pads, elbow pads, wrist guards, nose guard, mouth piece, and even a jock strap for good measure, that'll be my son. Tell him he looks great all in one piece thanks to all his protection!

Updates:
Noa's EEG, MRI, and blood tests are all normal, so now we have to see a neurologist on Oahu to see what he says and also do a cardiac test
Chocolates were sent out today
Our little kitty's name is officially Nalu, courtesy of Noa, who is her caretaker.

Gutting Fish (guess what's for dinner?)  Posted by Hello

  Two memes in one
Okay from Diana
The pic below is where I live
and the Name Meme...
I was named after my cousin.
My husband was named after his dad, his dad's dad, and so forth.
Our oldest is the fourth, though they say he is actually the fifth, but they didn't have good records back then.
Our middle child Noa: I wanted a Biblical name and a Hawaiian name and that fit the bill! Sounds Biblical but is Hawaiian.
Our little ones: I got to name one and hubby got to name one. I never even liked the name Elijah before, until one day I saw it in a magazine "Elijah Blue" and I said THAT is his name...I don't know, all those pregnancy hormones or something! His name is actually Elijah Paul, the Paul is after my daddy. Then hubby said he always liked the name Isaiah. I got to name both their middle names. Because they had so much trouble during the pregnancies, I decided to honor God for giving them life with their middle names: Elijah Paul Kahiaukaulanahemakanamakamaenokalani (roughly translated as "well-known is the selflessness of this precious gift from Heaven")
and
Keolapomaika'ililoloaikeAkua "A life that was blessed and therefore dedicated to God"
I meant to call them Kahiau and Keola but by the time they were born, so many people already knew their names as Elijah and Isaiah because they were praying for them, so their first names stuck.
That's two meme's in one!

  Restless
Wednesdays and Fridays are the longest days, training-wise, for my Taekwondo son. I have about three free hours from the time I drop him off until I pick him up. So yesterday I headed to Walmart. I only had ONE item I absolutely needed--mini cupcake liners (for a SS teacher's appreciation dinner tonight, I was called to make dessert.)
But you know how it goes in Walmart. I ended up getting a hula hoop (for my abs! lol! I don't know, I just wanted it, it was so sparkly and pretty), two umbrellas that were only A DOLLAR EACH. Yeah, now that we are heading into summer, I will really need those. Do you see how logical my impulse buys are? After a bunch of marked up walls and the couch got attacked, I found those Crayola Color Wonder pens, that only mark on the special paper you buy FOR SEVEN DOLLARS. But I figure it's worth it. I go home and gush to hubby "I solved our problem!!"
"What problem?"
"You know how the babies write on everything? Well, I bought special pens that ONLY write on a certain type of paper, it won't mark the walls, couch, or anything else!" (me, beaming--such a GENIUS!)
"That's not the problem! The problem is everyone who leaves the pens laying around, the babies are still going to find THOSE and write all over the wall." (Like, duh, woman, he thinks to himself.)
"oh."

Oh well, at least I tried, right?

Anyhow, I spent at least half an hour daydreaming in the book section. I really wanted to get a book. Did I ever mention I LOVE to read? I hate that the authors that I love don't write books often enough. Grisham? Read every single one...hurry up and get out another one. My all-time favorite is Jeffrey Archer. He only writes books once in a blue moon now. What's up with that? On the baby-less trip we just took, I got Summer Sisters by Judy Blume (remember her?!? She wrote classics like Are You There God, It's Me, Margaret, and Forever, stuff that made you feel naughty for reading it!) I read the entire thing on the plane in one sitting. I LOVED IT. (The book and getting to read it in one interruption-free sitting.)
Last week, when I took Noa to the hospital for his EEG, (which came out normal,) I got a used book for 25 cents at the shop there. Sat there for the entire two hours reading my book, it was really good. Then in the book section at Walmart, I thought "Hey, what happened to my 25 cent book I had last week?" For the life of me, I can't remember the author, the storyline, where I had placed the book, or EVEN IF I FINISHED IT OR NOT! How can that be? I have no clue. I got so mad at myself that I didn't let me buy a book because why waste a good six dollars if you can't even remember a book you just read? It's like, just wasting time, right? (and six dollars!) How scary is that? Is it just me or what?? Have you ever started a book and gone through a few chapters before realizing YOU'VE ALREADY READ IT BEFORE? I have. Maybe I'm headed towards Alzheimer City. Anyhow, no book for me.
There's nothing I hate more than idle time with nothing to read (or do.) So I drove back to Taekwondo and sat in the van and was so desperate, I almost busted out my hula hoop right there in the parking lot! Wouldn't that have been a sight!

Instead, I saw my older son's backback and grabbed some papers out of it and started to write a letter to each child. If you have not done this, I strongly recommend it. I have a running letter to each child that I started when they were born (got the idea from Parents Magazine) Whenever I remember (maybe once a year or so) I write them what's going on in their lives and how I feel about them and stuff. I plan on giving it to them on their 18th birthday. Go write your kid a letter now! I have to get my baked goods to church. Bye!

...And the winner of the first annual Speech 151 Blog Recipe Contest is...

RACHEL!! With her Peanut Butter Chicken recipe. It scored a whopping 36.1 out of 40 possible points.
Here is her recipe:

Peanut Butter Chicken:2 lbs chicken breasts, cut short-wise at a 45 degree angle (so you end up with almost bite-size strips)
a little ginger, grated or minced
2+ cloves garlic, minced or pressed
1/2 onion, diced.
decent sized plop of peanut butter
Splash Tamari/Soy Sauce
a little water to texture-taste
a little olive oil for sauteiing
peanuts for a topping
Saute chicken in batches (should need about 2 min per side). Save over in a bowl, covered with foil.Saute onion, garlic, ginger together. once they are softened, add pb, tamari and mix into a sauce. add a little water to make a sauce. toss with chicken. We serve with rice and broccoli.

Very close in second place and in the lead the entire time until the PB chicken upset is:

Chicken and Salsa with Black Beans by Jody
This is hubby's favorite. Don't even knock it till you try it. I said "my kids ain't eating this! They don't eat beans OR salsa!" but I had to make it to be fair for the contest...and they LOVED it, even the babies scarfed it up.

Chicken with Salsa and Black Beans
-6 small chicken breasts(boneless, skinless)
-12 oz Pace Chunky Picate Sauce, mild
-2 cans Progresso Black Beans-1 cup (or more to taste)
mozzarella cheese, shredded
-1 tsp dried parsley
Heat oven to 375. In a 9x13 in dish pour Salsa in the bottom of pan. Place chicken breasts over the salsa. For small breasts, cook 45 minutes, for larger ones about an hour. 10 minutes before the breasts are done, place drained and rinsed beans around the edge of the dish. 2 minutes before the breasts are ready, top with cheese. It is ready to serve when the cheese is completely melted. Sprinkle the breasts with parsley to add color.

What was really hard was that each person had their own favorite. And what someone loved, someone else didn't love so the score was lower even though everyone else like it, so we felt it wasn't FAIR to just give the winner a box of chocolates so...

EACH PERSON WHO ENTERED A RECIPE IS A WINNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

'kay, this is where you do the Oh-my-goodness-Oprah-just-gave-us-all-a-brand-new-car-dance and scream and jump up and down with tears in your eyes...Except you are that excited about winning a box of chocolate covered mac nuts instead, okay?

So Jodi, Jody, Rachel, Dad, Tee, and Perri, you all win a box of chocolate covered macadamia nuts! yayyyy! Thank you for all your yummy submissions.

Tater tot casserole by Jodi
1 bag tater tots
1 lb hamburger
1 can cream of mushroom/celery soup
16 oz shredded cheese (I use cheddar usually)
1/2 cup sour cream/plain yogurt(Optional)
Brown hamburger with a little salt and pepper. Set aside.Mix cream of mushroom soup with 1 to 1 1/2 cans of water OR milk. Add sour cream/yogurt if desired. Set aside.Pour 1/3 of the the bag of tater tots into a 2 qt casserole dish. Add a layer of hamburger. Add a layer of cheese. And then add another layer of tater tots. I continue layering until I end the dish with tater tots on the top.Pour the cream of mushroom mixture over the entire casserole. Sprinkle the top with cheese and place in a 350F oven for about 1 hour. I usually broil the casserole for the last few minutes to brown the cheese on top. As long as I don't add onions or vegetables my kids eat this up.
