  Rehearsal
We flew in on Wednesday and Isaiah was fine for two days but got sick again when it counted. We went to check in and they cancelled the surgery due to his cough. Good idea since he is now fully relapsed and I got it too.
He is now home recuperating from his illness with his new favorite blankie made by Aunty Stacy just for him.
When we flew in Wednesday, we drove up the driveway to the Ronald McDonald house and there were two limousines there. We go to check in and they said "There's a party tonight, you want to go?" It was a toy drive for the children of the Ronald McDonald House and it was an amazingly fun night. The public brought a toy as admission to dinner. We had a whole limo to ourselves. They took us to Murphys downtown where they closed down part of the street and put up a big screen for movies. They even had a popcorn machine!
They had a clown doing face painting and Santa Claus came on a motorcycle.

They had a trolley come every 20 minutes for a tour to see the Christmas lights downtown. Our driver had us sing Christmas carols even though he didn't know all the words. It was so funny.
In hindsight, I think there was too much fun and running around for a boy who was just really sick. I should have let him rest : (
Here is is napping after a two-poke blood test and doctor's visits.
Thursday we went to Chuck E Cheese with my brother, who we then dropped off at the airport so he could fly to our island to watch the other boys.
Here Isaiah is stepping in Ronald McDonald's footprints. It's a wonderful place to stay
I hated having to check out so early and without having done the surgery. But it'll be rescheduled for next month or the month after. At least Isaiah can have his Christmas again.

The anesthesiologist said if Isaiah felt better today we can still go ahead with the surgery. He's running around like his old self right now. We fly out this afternoon and it is scheduled for Friday at 10am....if he is 100% by then. Please keep him in your prayers.

  All Pau
Isaiah spiked a 103 temp last night, has a cough and vomited, so they said we needed to reschedule surgery until later. It won't be any sooner than mid January (one doc has a opening then and needs to see if the other doc has the same opening...doubtful.)
All the worry and running around preparing was for NOTHING. ugh. But in a way I am relieved...until it gets scheduled again.

  Agitated
I've been addicted to MySpace lately (if you have one, add me! add me!) and I'm enjoying how you can sum up your feelings into a one-word update. If this were myspace right now I'd put "Agitated."
There's absolutely nothing more I can do to prepare myself mentally for Z's upcoming surgery. He knows about it, even is almost excited about it, singing to his aunty over the phone today "I'm having Sur-gery!" He has no clue. Though he has asked "Is it going to hurt, mommy?" My half-truthed reply was that they would make sure he doesn't feel anything during the surgery. I will explain more as we get closer, but as he has 12 more days, I don't want him worrying about the pain all that time.
He seems to be a little more clingy, if that's not a figment of my imagination. I know I cling to him more now, cuddle him, kiss his forehead, and hold him like when he was a baby. I whisper how much I love him in his ear. My heart aches for him and what is about to happen to him : (

A couple of nights ago we went to a friend's baby's first birthday and got our faces painted.
Z is on the left.
Knowing that he only had two weeks before he'd be bald, I cut his hair the way he wanted, and he requested a mohawk! So a mohawk is what he got...

The twins are really into taking pictures now, be it with my phone or my camera. Many times I've come across pictures that I like and might even be considered artistic, like one of their feet together, a tree from a unique point of view, or an extreme close up of something, like the picnic table. This one Z took on the sly yesterday of me and E walking down the beach. I'm headless, but I look better that way, huh? lol. I got them their own digital cameras for Christmas at a pre-dawn day-after-Thanksgiving sale. I just don't know whether I should give some of their gifts before Christmas, when Z can enjoy them more.
So many unknowns right now. It's all new to me. What do I even pack to go to Oahu? Will he be wanting toys or not? How long will he be in so much pain that it won't matter to him whether he has toys or not? Oh, sometimes it's just too much to bear...
Sorry to be such a bummer. I think I won't post again until after. Till then...
