Downward Dog
Isaiah is a ball of energy, completely normal except for rare moments when he complains of pain or itchiness. It's almost easy to forget he just had major cranial surgery...if it weren't for the nasty scar zigzagging across his head!
It's hard to think of things to do for him...can't go to school, can't go to the playground, can't swim at the beach. I wonder how he doesn't go out of his mind, cuz I am!
We recently got cable and I'm addicted to FITTV. Been doing belly dancing for exercise as well as yoga. Here Isaiah is joining in with downward dog position:

Then he turned around to do another position, tapped his head on the ground a little too hard and hurt himself : (
it's so very fragile looking my heart goes out to him.

Here he is at the mall. He gets so many looks, ranging from pity to almost disgust. I wonder how parents of disabled children handle this all the time. I notice the looks and feel protective of him
but he is completely oblivious, thank God.

Tomorrow we're going to Oahu for a follow up visit with one of the surgeons. I'm hoping he'll get cleared to go back to school sooner than the 4-6 weeks because it's really hard sending one twin to school and keeping the other home! Especially since HE'S the one the loves school and the other one clings to my leg and doesn't want to go! He asks several times throughout the day if we can get his brother already. I can't even imagine how it is for Elijah in school all day by himself.
Home
We came home on Tuesday. Isaiah was doing phenomenally well. His last day in the hospital he was already off morphine and did not want meds. So when we got home, I didn't fill out his prescriptions right away. The next day he complained of pain so I went to get it filled, only for them to tell me that he HAS NO COVERAGE. I was so upset, because no amount of telling them that we've had the same insurance for 16 years is gonna get them to believe it. I stood there in disbelief, crying, because I had a son at home complaining of pain that plain Tylenol was not relieving. I ended up having to take him to the emergency room for pain relief. Poor guy. (It turns out that because they are twins they were supposed to have separate insurance cards, for some reason they only recognize the first twin otherwise...I know, I don't get it either...he's gotten meds BEFORE)
Anyways, he had no pain today and is back to his normal self.
This is the goodbye kiss between brothers at the airport

Update
Surgery went perfectly. It lasted 5 hours, and Isaiah was stable throughout. He is still in the ICU, but hopefully he'll get a floor bed tomorrow. He is on a continuous morphine drip that also lets him press a button for more when he has pain. Last night was pretty difficult as he felt extremely thirsty but threw up all night long. The nurse in me said "only let him have a sip" the mother in me said "give the poor kid as much as he wants!" He's keeping everything down now, what a relief.
Right now his main complaint is itchiness and there's nothing he wants more than to take the bandages off, his head is wrapped like a mummy. I have lots of pics and will post them when we get home! It's looking hopeful that he'll be home soon, he's already playing his Nintendo DS : )
This is it!
Isaiah is in surgery as I type this (The Ronald McDonald House has a Family Room in the hospital with computer access, seriously, God bless them!) We've been here since 8am, and all I can do is wait until it's all over. He was in good spirits all the way until we took him to the OR, where he took one look around at all the scary equipment and people dressed like martians and he burst into tears, making me break my vow to stay strong for him and I cried right along.
Last night, however, he was such a trooper when it came to his blood test. We talked about it and he said "I'm gonna be brave" and boy was he! He told me I didn't need to hold his arm, he was gonna stay still, and not only did he not cry,
he laughed when she stuck the needle in, making me worry she might think I abuse him or something, if he thinks needle pokes are fun...
lol
Anyway, I'll be on here updating as I can. Thanks for those of you who are checking in : )
love ya
6 Random Things About Me

What better way to get over my blogging slump than to be tagged? Thanks,
Sarah : )
The Rules are: (1) Link to the person who tagged you. (2) Post the rules on your blog. (3) Share 6 non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself. (4)Tag six random people at the end of your post by linking to their blogs. (5) Let each random person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their website.
Here we go…
1. If there's not food or gum in my mouth, I will chew on the inside of my lip incessantly, causing a permanent bump <--- and I secretly worry one day I will develop cancer there.
2. I have a zillion pairs of shoes but ALWAYS wear the same ol' black Roxy slippers everyday.
3. My worry is that I am not living up to the life I want and that one day I will look back with regret at all I have not accomplished.
4. I often buy new makeup and/or earrings with intention of finally becoming a real "girly girl"...but my new resolve lasts only a few days or so.
5. I hate the taste of raw carrots (and I am a vegetarian)
6. I still don't feel like a grown up yet : )
See numbers three and six to explain all my new adventures. Having a great time doing what I love...
Being in the ocean...

and found out I am just TOO OLD to be doing THIS:
Because more often than not I am doing THIS:

And all that body slamming has me walking around like an ol' lady. I feel like I got beat up by ten big dudes. But it was a lot of fun.
Tomorrow I was supposed to paddle canoe, but still hurting too much from the day at the stationary wave. Need to learn my limits : ) Takin' it easy now.
My folks fly in on Wednesday, we leave for Oahu on Thursday, and Z's surgery is on Friday. I had planned another round of fun adventures before his surgery, but doctor wisely told me to keep him in a modified quarantine instead...no Chuck E Cheese this time, as well as no going to the mall, or even grocery shopping. He needs to just stay home and stay away from sick people.
oh, and as for the meme, I'm not tagging anyone, you're all off the hook : )
Starting Over

Well, I got shy just a little bit and made a stupid mistake. Heath Ledger died and I posted a hot pic of him once a long time ago, so all of a sudden I was getting 2,000 hits a day and I just felt a little embarassed about my little blog so decided to move it to another site, thinking it was temporary. Well, some hack took my original address so I'm stuck here in neverland. If you're here, glad you found me. Let's start over : )
Nothing here but lots of gloomy weather but just wanted to update and let you know Z's surgery is FEB 15th. Please keep him in your hearts and prayers. Thanks
