Twins and the Truck

The twins are really into bathroom humor. It just cracks them up. I came out of the shower and then Z sang "Who's got a big butt??" and E answered "Mom-my! Mom-my" They thought that was soooo funny.
They like to change words to books they read by pointing to the picture and saying stuff like "Ooh, Cow make doo-doo!" "Oh horse make doo-doo!" And each statement makes the other twin hysterical, and it throws them both into fits of laughter and they just go on and on "oh, duck make doo-doo!" Then they bust out laughing. I can't help but laugh too.
There's been a nice little swell at my fave beach so we've been going a lot and on the last day, the TWINS STARTED TO SWIM! They immerse their whole body underwater then "walk" with their hands towards me. Before, they would either do that with their head above water, or they would be stationary and dunk their heads under water for like, two seconds.
And now for you still curious about hubby's Father's Day present, he loved it, of course. lol. I had videotaped the opening of the gifts, but didn't post it because I didn't get the tv-appropriate reaction that I wanted. What is it that you always see on TV when people get new cars?? They jump up and down and scream and laugh and whoop over and over, right?? Well, hubby blubbered and cried. ROFL, no, just kidding. He was in shock, glued to his seat, going "whaa..? Are you serious? You're crazy...whaat??" with this silly grin on his face.
After about 10 minutes, I said, "What? No yahoo? Not even one?"
Then at dinner, we were talking about the truck and he said "You know, there is no way I could top that." And I was dumbfounded, in all the excitement I had FORGOTTEN TO TELL HIM WHY he got the truck. Not because I want something for myself, but in appreciation for all he's done
already. Anyway, I told him that, then used that opportunity to say wellll, he COULD give me a babygirl if he wanted to. lol.
Overlooked Again...

Poor Second Son, entered his first surf contest this past weekend and he didn't even get a mention in my little bloggio.
He took second in the bodyboard division! Silly kid, he did a move he called "the Ghost." I doubt if it's a real move, lol, but he took the contest rash guard he was wearing and covered his head with it while on a wave and waved his arms out with "spirit fingers" LOL.
In other news, I re-pierced my belly button today, to cover up the scar from my old one that closed up after having to take it out while very pregnant with the twins. I got to use some leftover lidocaine and I felt NO PAIN. I love my job.
Summer's flying by so fast. Hope y'all are having fun. I'm going blog hopping now. C-ya!
Happy Fathers' Day!
To all fathers out there, hope you have a wonderful Fathers' Day : )
To my Daddy, I love you and thank you for all the years you didn't kill me when you really felt like it. Thank you for being the greatest Dad ever, for your love, kindness, and patience.
To my husband:
My dearest, dearest husband, who worked so hard to support us and let me stay home with the children as long as I wanted no matter how poor we were and put me through school all those years...
I love you and appreciate your loving support through my stay-at-home years.
For that, this is what he got on Fathers Day, what he always wanted!
First this...as a joke:

Then he opened his real gift, in a small gift bag, pulled out the keys to this!!
Can you imagine how hard that was for me to keep quiet about all this time!?!?
Fun and Adventure

Spent a coupla days with the kiddos at the waterpark on another island. It's so much easier now that I don't have to hold both twins' hands and sit them both in my lap to slide. They had so much fun going down the slides all day long. On the same trip, I got to try on my bridesmaid dress and I LOVE it. It's so pretty. Now just to lose that belly...
Now that trauma certification class I have been dreading and "studying" for months now has finally come around and it's FUN. I am thoroughly enjoying myself. For one thing, the "patient" is a dummy and you have lots of time to systematically inspect and figure out the situation. The dummy even has a pulse and an attached EKG monitor that works! And he isn't bleeding or screaming in pain. No pressure. Today I learned so much my brain wants to burst. Tomorrow ends with the big exam in which you have to run a trauma code all by yourself and have to touch on all the proper assessments and interventions to pass. I'm scared. (but optimistic)
***Oh, man, I almost forgot to tell you, remember how I've talked about how I've always wanted to go on medical missions? We were at the beach last week and the twins were playing by a boy around their age so I started to talk to his mother...who turns out to be a Physician who goes on medical missions EVERY MONTH. Joining them would be totally feasible for me because it's just for one day to Mexico. Then I can finally have a taste of it, what it would be like. I'm so excited about this, I can't wait for the right timing!
Time To Celebrate!
I've been promoted! On the day my boss announced it to some people, the charge nurse walked up to me with two small gifts, shook my hand and handed them to me like it was graduation, and she said "Congratulations, this is for your promotion" I was so honored. It was a really nice pen and a pocket hand sanitizer. Then later, I saw her give more to other people, and she laughed and said that the drug rep gave limited amounts so she's being choosy about who she gives it to. I thought it was just for me, lol.
Our oldest graduated middle school. The ceremony was so beautiful. They sang and danced a waltz.

Then we packed up a gaggle of kids from around the neighborhood and met some friends down at the beach and camped this weekend. It was so fun and relaxing. We found out that middle boy is a natural at stand up paddle surfing:

It's the best start to the summer EVER!
