I've Got a Secret
We all have secrets, don’t we? Have you ever felt ashamed or alone in thinking your secret is by far worse than anyone else’s? Have you ever felt that no one could possibly be thinking or feeling the same thing as you? I have had tons of thoughts that are too weird for humankind…or so I thought!
Until along came a community art project by Frank Warren called
PostSecret. Perhaps you have seen the website or followed the link from my blog. It’s a simple idea, really--people mail-in their secrets anonymously on a homemade postcard. Their secrets are published weekly on the Post Secret website and now in a new book called
PostSecret: Extraordinary Confessions from Ordinary Lives which is available now online and in stores.
The single most amazing thing about PostSecret is that it makes me realize I’m not alone--there are other people that think just like me. I can even relate to the kinda scary “There’s-a-Skittle-on-the-floor-of-my-bathroom-at-work-and-everytime-I-see-it-I-am-tempted-to-eat-it” postcard. Not that I would ever eat a urine-coated Skittle, mind you, but that I, too, have completely irrational urges.
For instance, I realized that I am actually not afraid of heights, as I always thought I was. I am actually afraid of being so high up because I always have an urge to take a flying leap from the edge. Not because I am suicidal but because my mind wants to make me fly! Crazy, you say? Maybe, but take a peek at the PostSecret book and you’ll see that I am not alone in having such strange thoughts. As a matter of fact, I bet you’ll see one of YOUR secrets in there too!
Maybe you live a “normal” life and have only socially-acceptable “normal” thoughts. PostSecret is still for you, because you can have an amazing and eye-opening look into other people’s minds. There are things that just blow me away. The person who likes to pee in public pools?
Really? Why?? I guess there are some things we will never know, but at least we can know about it, (and avoid certain pools, huh?)
I’d say this book is definitely a fun read and great gift to give for Christmas!
So make the dude’s day and
buy the book : )What the hay, buy a few!

Thank you to Frank Warren and Bobbilyn Jones at Harper Collins for this incredible opportunity to review the book. Sa-weet! (And my sincere apologies for taking so long to review)
Work in the ER
Wow, work is so busy and interesting, I wish I could tell you all the stuff that happens in the ER, but as we all know THAT WOULD BE A BREACH OF CONFIDENTIALITY whether I use names or NOT!
I actually could lose my job over sharing any stories so I can't.

Ya wanna know how it came to be that my mother planned a last minute trip to visit us? She saw a sales ad for an inflatable bouncy castle and asked me if I thought the kids would enjoy it. I said yeah, but how would she get it here? She said "It's plastic! It'll be light!" I was like, yeah right. She bought it, and it was 80 pounds! So she called and said that I'll have to fly there and get it before Christmas. I said hey, I'm working now, I can't just hop on a flight and come. So she came here! And the kids just love it. It blows up super fast too, just like 2 minutes. Here's the kids on it:
You Mean I Still Have Friends???
LOL, I thought I lost everybody. When posting last night, I forgot to click on "disable comments" and it published and lookit, three people still read my blog : )
Sorry, there's no interesting stuff, just journaling so I can think about what happened at work. I'll show you visually what happens at work. This is after only one 12 hour shift and these shoes are only three years old. As I ran to help the man passing out, my sole completely flew off of one shoe and cracked the other one half off!

Also, see, Tee? my pedometer smokes crack! I had it on, KNOWING I would kick your butt that day, and it only registered 4 thousand steps, same like it would at home, and i walked ten thousand times more at work for sure!
