  Broke
Well, the decision on whether I should go back to work or not has been made for us! Our mortgage company called last week to say there has been a mistake. The past two years, we have been paying the wrong amount! It is now going to be 70% MORE than we have been paying. And it's already rough going as it is.
I now have two applications waiting for me to fill out. The first is one for volunteering with emergency disaster relief (because my mom and dad have offered to watch the twins for two weeks!), and the other is an application for work at the hospital. I've decided to fill both out and see what happens.

Comments:
Oh my gosh!! 70% more? Ugh. Hugs to you, girl. I can only imagine the stress it's causing.
Good luck with the jobs and application stuff.

I Emailed. You're in my prayers. God's will. {SANDY}

Holy crap! I don't like your mortgage company. Not one bit!

Holy Moly! How can you have been paying the wrong amount for TWO freaking years and no one noticed!?

Have you considered refinancing with one of those companies you see on t.v. all the time? Or even with a local bank? Maybe you could get out of the 70% that way?

I am sending (((BIG HUGS))) girl! I cannot imagine finding out a huge bill is going to get bigger! OY!

That sure is messed up! It took them 2 years to realize you were paying the wrong amount? I would refi with someone else to see if you can get a better rate. Check around and see what you can do. Good luck and God bless.

((HUGS)) my friend!
I am so sorry--I can't believe they were off 70%--that doesn't even sound possible.
You are in my prayers!!
JB

oh God... that is awful!!! i'm there with you, honey... *hugs*

I would definitely look into refinancing before the rates go up any more. Something smells fishy about all of this. Do they send you a statement at the end of each year telling you how much interest you have paid and how much principle you have paid? I don't understand how they could have let it go on for two years. Hope you get to the bottom of it quickly.

I know it sounds fishy, guys, but it's not. At the time we made the agreement, I DID wonder, for a fleeting second, why our payment was low. But of course I did not question it! It was a computational error.
The way I see it is, it was a blessing in disguise because it let me stay home with the babies for these past two years. If it did not happen, maybe I would have had to have gone to work when they were tiny!

Yikes, that's quite an error! Too bad they figured it out. hehe

I hope you get to do the emergency relief thing, I know how much you've been wanting to so something like that.

I also hope you get the job at the hospital to help ease your financial burdens.

*hugs*

Oh good luck sweetie! I am totally praying that God answers all your prayers during this time! Please keep us posted.

*Huge Hugs and Prayers*

good for you for getting to stay home two years... right??
now back to the grind for you. good lucky smart nurse girl. you can do it

Sandy, That sounds fishy! I would wonder about that one . . . is there any way that they can work with you on that? I hope so.

Sandy, I'll be praying the right job opens up and you find the sitter of your dreams.

Oh God bless you and your whole family as you start this chapter of your lives. **hugs**
